Stop the cuts. Fix the system. Protect our NDIS.

Red “Protect Our NDIS” shield logo above the text “Stop the cuts. Fix the system.” with silhouettes of people raising fists in the background and the Every Australian Counts logo below.

People with disability are being cut out of the NDIS supports we need to live ordinary lives where we are included in our communities with real choice and control over our support.

This is the moment to stand together, stop it. fix it. protect it.

What’s happening

Right now, changes to the NDIS will:

  • cut access to support
  • reduce supports for people already in the Scheme
  • remove support before suitable alternatives exist
  • shift pressure onto families, carers and kin
  • take away our choice and control over our supports
  • create uncertainty and stress for people relying on support.

These are cuts. And they will leave people without support.

Why this matters

The NDIS exists so people with disability can live ordinary lives where we are included in our communities with real choice and control over our support.

When support is cut and our right to choose our support is taken away from us:

  • people are left without what they need
  • families, kin and carers are pushed to breaking point
  • mental and physical health risks increase
  • social connection and participation are reduced
  • pressure shifts to hospitals and crisis systems.

Need does not disappear. It gets shifted.

What’s driving this

These outcomes are not accidental.

They are the result of decisions being made without people with disability and without proper system design.

If we do not fix how decisions are made, this will keep happening.

That’s why this campaign is not just about stopping the cuts.

It’s about fixing the system that is causing them.

What we’re calling for

We are standing together to say:

  • stop cuts to access, plans and supports
  • ensure no support is removed before suitable alternatives exist
  • protect participation and inclusion supports
  • maintain our right to choose who provides our support
  • ensure review rights remain fair, accessible and effective in practice
  • embed genuine co-design with people with disability
  • be transparent, including releasing draft legislation for consultation
  • fix the system so it works properly.

This affects all of us

This is bigger than one person. It affects:

  • people currently in the NDIS
  • people trying to access it
  • families, carers and kin
  • the broader community.

When the NDIS is weakened, the impact is felt everywhere.

A united campaign

Every Australian Counts is launching this campaign to stop proposed NDIS cuts and ensure people with disability can live ordinary lives with real choice and control over our support.

We are aligning with and amplifying efforts already being led by people with disability, including the 12 Days of Action, Protect Our NDIS Alliance, PWDA and others.

This is about building a strong, unified voice.

Others are rightly calling to stop the cuts.

We are doing that too.

And we are also focused on why this is happening, how decisions are being made, and how the system must be fixed so this doesn’t keep happening.

Join the campaign

This only changes if we speak up together.
