NDIS pilot scheme funding fight ‘hurting’ disability sector, Intellectual Disability Association says

A disability services expert is demanding the Federal and South Australian Governments solve funding differences which are delaying any further rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

David Holst chairs the Intellectual Disability Association and told 891 ABC Adelaide thousands of children and their families were the innocent victims, after funding arguments stalled the current pilot scheme running in South Australia.

“If you go to the root cause of the dispute, the SA Government and the Federal Government agreed to share the cost of that pilot program – based on the numbers that are in the bipartisan agreement they signed – and those numbers are now in dispute and you have a standoff,” he said.
