Willing to Work

Tags: ,

Australians with a disability make up 15 percent of the working age population but only 10 percent have jobs.

So, it’s great news a national enquiry is underway into employment opportunities for people with a disability.

Willing to Work: a National Enquiry into Employment Discrimination Against Older Australians and Australians with Disability was launched in Canberra on Wednesday.

It will led by Disability Commissioner, Susan Ryan.

Commissioner Ryan says the inquiry will identify the barriers that have prevented thousands of willing workers from being able to exercise their right to work.

We’ll post links to the issues paper as soon as it is made public, as well as more detail about how people can be involved.

The Inquiry will finish and report to the Government by July 2016
