Jeremy’s tip the balance story

Jeremy is almost 30 years old and he has autism and intellectual impairment. One of his biggest problems is making his own choices. His funding now allows him the opportunity to go out with a 1:1 carer on the weekend, which was never possible before. This week Jeremy said for the first time “I want to go bowling this Saturday with my carer.” He repeated the request over several days to make sure I was managing it right. This is the first time he really made a choice for himself, so it is a huge step towards his own autonomy, and very exciting for our family.
