Leigh – a voice for the voiceless

Meet Leigh

Leigh has Down Syndrome and works as a peer mentor. His work gives a voice to people with disabilities, especially people with Down Syndrome.

Leigh started thinking about what he wanted from the NDIS when he heard Newcastle would be a launch site. He told his planner that he wanted to build on his current work, plan towards further independence and to keep working on his health. But he really wanted to continue with his existing supports and reckons you should look for supports you can connect to.

Watch Leigh’s journey through the NDIS.
