Thanks for not giving me a go – I’m now my own boss

REJECTION has been Laura Scurr’s greatest asset.

No-one would hire her so she’s rolled her wheelchair straight to the top and is now the boss of her own virtual administration business.

Ms Scurr lives with cerebral palsy and believes potential employers have focused on her disability rather than abilities and qualifications.

When she first told The Chronicle her story, she said she had been told by one Toowoomba employment agency to “never expect to find work”.

“I have completed three degrees at the USQ within the area of accounting and to date have applied for more than 170 jobs. This, in my opinion, proves that there are jobs out there,” she said.
