Samaritans expands into Sydney after 30yrs in the Hunter

After 30 years of offering support to disadvantaged people in the region, the Hunter-based Samaritans Foundation has expanded into Sydney for the first time.

The charity has officially opened an office in Penrith.

It will specifically cater for people under the age of 18 who are starting to access the national disability insurance scheme (NDIS).

Samaritans director of corporate services Lynne Graham said the organisation played a key role in the scheme’s pilot, which started in the Hunter two years ago.
