Only one NDIS reject in 10 goes to case review

DISABILITY Advocacy NSW is encouraging Hunter residents who have been refused access to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to seek a review, for their own sake, and those that follow.

Of the seven trial sites operating nationally, the Hunter is home to the highest number of people deemed ineligible to participate in the scheme, with 631 out of the 4172 people who have applied refused.

Despite that number, very few people have asked for an internal review – just 62, and only four have gone on to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
