NDIS to give $2 billion boost to western Sydney

WESTERN Sydney will get a major social and economic boost when the next stage of the National Disability Insurance Scheme begins its rollout in July.

More than 11,000 new jobs are expected to be created in the region by 2019 and the number of people getting disability support will double to about 47,000. More than $2 billion will also be injected into vital services in the regions.

The NDIS launched three years ago following years of discussion about the need for a major reform of disability services in Australia.
