Federal govt announces $270m NDIS rollout

People with a disability in the Northern Territory will be covered by the national disability insurance scheme when it rolls out from July 1, with three years of funding worth $270 million.

Community Services Minister Christian Porter said about 6500 people would be covered by the scheme and 1500 jobs would be created.

“It’s fantastic news in terms of the much improved services that they will be receiving,” he told reporters in Darwin on Wednesday.
