Disability support pension eligibility crackdown forces people onto Newstart allowance: welfare groups

After tighter rules were introduced last year, 28,000 people under the age of 35 on the Disability Support Pension (DSP) are due to be re-assessed.

So far more than 7,249 people have had their cases reviewed, and 746, or around 10 per cent, have been told they are no longer medically eligible.
