Choice and control: the challenge of growing the NDIS

The NDIS is the biggest rollout of government social services since Medicare was introduced in 1975.

Recent reports by University of Melbourne and the Productivity Commission, highlight both problems and strengths inherent in the scheme, with the need to rapidly grow the disability care workforce looming as a significant challenge.

Despite problems being experienced by users, the scheme still has the potential to provide much-needed support and improve the lives of thousands of Australians.
