Are we NDIS ready?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will begin its progressive three-year roll-out in July 2016, initiating an approach that is similar to a UK model.

Under the scheme, funding for disability services will go directly to people with disabilities, rather than to service provider organisations.

Dr Simon Duffy, founder and director of the Centre for Welfare Reform in the UK, is considered by many as one of the fathers of the NDIS approach – helping people to hold their own budgets.
