Will the NDIS affect my Centrelink payments?

Payments from the NDIS for approved reasonable and necessary supports are not considered income by the Australia Taxation Office and are exempt from tax. These payments are also not treated as income if you are receiving Centrelink income supports and payments or for the purposes of Child Support Benefit.

You will not receive Mobility Allowance if you have a plan with the NDIS, but you will keep your Health Care Card. The NDIS provides funding for transport assistance at different levels of support depending upon your circumstances.
