NDIS Kicks Off

Over 800 people have registered to attend the Every Australian Counts kick off event so it’s pretty fortunate the team booked a big venue! Register now if you want to be a part of the fun and learn more about the NDIS.

The first of July will mark the launch of the first NDIS site outside a trial location – for young people in the local government areas of Penrith, Lithgow, Hawkesbury and Blue Mountains, west of Sydney

To mark the occasion Every Australian Counts is launching a kick off event at the Penrith Panthers Exhibition Marquee.

The huge level of interest in the event is an indication of the strong need for information about the NDIS and what it will mean for people with disability, their families and supporters.

The kick off event will be packed with opportunities to hear from people in the launch sites and other NDIS experts.

Mums Janelle and Jane will be coming down from the Hunter trial site to share with us how the NDIS has helped their respective daughters get ready for school. And Hunter local, Catherine, will join them to talk about her own experience with the scheme.

All will be able to explain the NDIS planning process and offer great tips for those just starting out on their NDIS journey.

Former NRL star Luke Priddis has a young child with autism who will be eligible to access the NDIS in the new trial site. He’ll also be hitting the stage at the kick off event to talk about his goals for his son and their family.

Plus there’ll be Every Australian Counts campaigners John Della Bosca, Dougie Herd, Katherine Mcllelan, Andrew Gibson and Daniel Kyriacou on hand to answer all your questions.

With registrations at now over 800 they will have to close soon. Make sure to register now if you want to be a part of it.
