Queenslanders with disabilities worried about NDIS start-up

Around $2 million was set aside in Tuesday’s Queensland Budget for an “early launch” for Australia’s NDIS, yet no-one will say when or where the “early launch” will start.

Queensland has decided to hold an “early launch” for the scheme – which begins from July 2016 – because there has been no NDIS trial in Queensland.

All other states have run NDIS trial sites, set in train after former prime minister Julia Gillard came to Queensland in May 2013 to sign the agreement with former premier, Campbell Newman.
