Minister for the NDIS Stuart Robert speaking to the media

The Minister for the NDIS Stuart Robert has announced some changes that will be introduced to help people with disability and their families manage the impact of the Coronavirus over the coming weeks and months.

The changes include:

👉 Outreach to “high risk” participants to make sure they have what they need

👉 A “more flexible” approach to using NDIS funds including allowing people to switch between categories – but only in “consultation with special teams of planners in the NDIA”

👉 Extra 10 per cent loading added to the prices of some NDIS services and supports just for six months to cover the extra costs of service delivery

👉 Changes to the NDIS cancellation policy

👉 Financial support to providers to make sure they can keep services going

NDIS participants can also ask for an extension of their current plan for up to 24 months (announced earlier but good to remember).

The Minister also made clear this is just the start – there will be more changes to come.

We have a bunch of questions – we are sure you do too. So if you want to add them to the list either ask them in the comments below or send them through to . We will try and get answers and then share them on this website.
