EAC extends a huge thanks to National Disability Services!

Every Australian Counts (EAC) extends its heartfelt thanks to National Disability Services (NDS) who are stepping away from their formal involvement after over a decade of diligent support and collaboration since our inception.
NDS’s dedication to our grassroots campaign was pivotal in achieving the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and in recent times, stopping the introduction of Independent Assessments.
In partnership with Australian Federation of Disability Organisations (AFDO) and Carers Australia, NDS helped form the National Disability & Carer Alliance, laying the groundwork for EAC’s inception. They were later joined in the Alliance, by Mental Health Australia to continue to grow the campaign direction. In recent years the appointment of an Independent Chair, Dr George Taleporos and the current expansion of the Steering Committee are proof of the growth and maturity of the EAC campaign.
EAC Independent Chair, Dr George Taleporos stated, “I want to acknowledge the significant contributions of NDS, recognising their pivotal role in forming EAC and helping to strengthen our advocacy efforts over the dozen years since we were created. It has been greatly appreciated and we thank them for their work and for the confidence they show in our future.”
As NDS transitions away from its formal involvement in EAC, we recognise their invaluable contributions and are confident that EAC will continue to thrive with the support of AFDO as its auspice, and critically with our grass roots supporters. Together, we will continue advocating for an NDIS that truly reflects the vision we all embrace, ensuring EAC remains a robust, independent voice for all NDIS participants.
