Since the full roll out of the NDIS began on July 1 people have shared some great experiences with us– and there have been some issues for others.
This is only the beginning of the journey.
The NDIS needs to work for all the people it is there to support – those who are in it now and those will who join over the next three years.
Every Australian Counts has put together a short online survey so governments and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) know what’s working and what’s not with the NDIS.
There are questions for people in the scheme, people waiting to join, people working in the sector and Every Australian Counts supporters who are passionate about making sure people with disability get the support they need.
They’re simple but important questions, like:
- If you are in the NDIS, are you receiving better support than you were before?
- If you’re still waiting for the NDIS how do you feel about it?
- If you’re a disability support worker do you have enough of the right kind of information to help you make the transition and provide the best possible support for your clients?
If you are in the scheme and the experience has been great, that’s fantastic news for the years ahead.
But if it’s not living up to expectations, we need to make sure governments know why.
The responses will be collated into an Every Australian Counts NDIS Community Report Card in December.
It will be the first community based report card tracking how the community thinks the NDIS is going as it is fully rolled out.
We’ll use that to talk to our leaders about what’s going well and how things could be improved.
It’s an easy survey to complete. Just click here and let’s keep campaigning to make the NDIS is the best it can be.
