Rudely Interrupted Gets Behind The NDIS
Fresh from having their clip “Close My Eyes” lauded at the prestigious Cannes Lions Awards and about to embark on a series of gigs around Australia, Rohan Brooks from Rudely Interrupted - www.rudelyinterrupted.com – took some time out from their hectic schedule to tell us why they are backing the campaign.
Message from Rohan Brooks from Rudely Interrupted …
For too long Australians with disabilities have struggled.
We can’t have it unless we all share it, equality!
People with disabilities in Australia continue to live like second class citizens because they can’t access the support and care they require to live the sort of normal lives most Australians take for granted.
Too often people with disabilities are out of mind, out of site and disempowered – our abilities and talents not recognized or supported and held back by negative stereotypes and mindsets.
When we got together as a band back in 2007 we were determined to smash those old perceptions of people with disabilities.
Of the six people in our band, five of us have a disability.
But it isn’t stopping us – we are touring the country and the world, playing our music and getting the recognition we deserve.
We have had support on the way – this has harnessed our talents but as we say – the harder we work, the luckier we get.
We want to see the Government introduce a National Disability Insurance Scheme to ensure that all people with disabilities in Australia get the support they need to realize their full potential.
That’s why we support this important campaign for a National Disability Insurance Scheme to ensure that Every Australian Counts.

After listening to this band it made me think of how some people who have to struggle can surpass all what we think they can or can not do .
Good for them , I hope we take a little from this lesson of never say never
Fantastic! What a great song, love the lyrics and the lead singers voice is amazing, reminiscent to me of one of my all time favourite voices, Steve Kilby from ‘The Church’.
Get the word around these guys a great. Hope your tour goes well . You are all an inspiration hope you enjoy every minute of what you are doing in promoting awareness of disability everywhere.
Fantastic sound, and the video clip is great.
All the best for the tour!
