See Stella twice in two days: discounted tix, free workshop

Stella Young Stella Young knows the media from the inside out – as a comedian, writer, editor of the ABC’s RampUp website and disability activist.

She’ll be in Perth for a Women In Media event on Wednesday, February 29, to be held at Telethon Institute for Child Health Research, 100 Roberts Road, Subiaco, where she’ll discuss the portrayal of disability in the media.

The following night, Stella will co-host a free media training session for people with a disability and families/carers. Come along and find out about how to deal with mainstream media and become a media player yourself. Plus we’ll talk about the campaign’s new video project and how you can get involved.

The evening is free but you need to register to get a place by emailing geraldine.mellet@ndis.org.au by Friday, February 24, or by ringing Teresa Scott at the Christ Church Ethics Centre 08 9442 1705.

The event is on Thursday, March 1, – 6.30 – 9.30pm at the Senior Common Room, Ethics Centre, Christchurch Grammar School, Queenslea Drive, Claremont, WA.
