if the NDIS is launched what happens to the futures program as currently one of the geelong special schools is pushing the line that if your not enrolled with them you will never get futures funding. my Son has an IQ of 70 if he is in a alternative educational setting such as create because the special school he was at was unable to adequately met his educational needs is it true that he will recive no futures or its equivelent when he has finished schooling
If the NDIS is launched as recommended by the commission then programs such as futures will not be required Rebecca. Futures is one of the many fragmented systems of funding that needs to go. With the development of your sons individual life plan under an NDIS his needs and goals should be met. That’s what is intended to happen anyway.
